BBC expands web TV

The BBC could invite other broadcasters to distribute video content online through its planned Interactive Media Player (iMP) project, reports the Guardian.

Some commercial rivals have expressed concern at the iMP project, which will allow BBC.co.uk users to watch the past week’s TV online. The Guardian said that Ashley Highfield, the BBC's director of new media, is committed to the idea and that Channel 4 TV is likely to be the first to sign up.
