Pax puts blogging in context
Canada-based creative group Zed has published a video interview with Iraqi blogger Salam Pax.Salam Pax blog covered life in Baghdad during the US-led invasion of the Iraq. His work was later offered a column by Guardian Unlimited.
"It's good to establish common ground to show people that we are all the same - it makes the news more real," he said during the interview.
"Blogging is not journalism. Blogs form around the news and give it context."
He went on to say that Iranian students are providing a strong alternative voice online through their blogs.
The interview with the Iraqi blogger, who uses the pseudonym Salam Pax, was originally broadcast as part of Zed's 'War and Remembrance' programme on November 11 2004.
