Financial news site the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) has introduced a new edition for the BlackBerry palm-top organiser.
WSJ teamed up with BlackBerry technology specialists Outercurve to develop the edition. Users can scan business news, comment and financial market reports and set up customised news alerts on specific topics or companies.
The BlackBerry edition costs $8.95 for US customers and is being rolled out internationally. UK users can sign up from the end of April for £5.95 per month.
A free demonstration of the Wall Street Journal Online for Blackberry is available at the Outercurve website.
Outercurve said that there is considerable demand for BlackBerry applications and the firm has worked on similar products for the Financial Times and Interactive Data. Several new applications are expected to be launched this year.
