Tory site outstrips Labour

The Conservative Party site has consistently attracted more traffic than Labour since 5 April, according to data released today by web analysts Hitwise.

Conservatives.com recorded around 31.7 per cent of the audience share for all UK political sites, although the gap between the Tory and Labour audience shares has narrowed to just 2.2 per cent this week.

The Labour site did break ahead on 13 April when the party's manifesto was released, and Guardian Unlimited's election coverage also recorded more than the Conservative site on that day.

Viral voting site whoshouldyouvotefor.com has been inundated with traffic and became the most visited UK political site on 15 April. The site recommends a party based on a reader's answers to a short questionnaire on key political issues.
