Online Journalism News

Sky News show to highlight top web news stories

Sky News will next month launch a weekday show on its TV channel looking at the most popular stories, videos and debates on the web.

Sky.com News, which will air Tuesday to Friday at 7.30pm, will use web audience's news preferences to help set the agenda.

The show, which will also be streamed on the Sky News website, will be presented by Martin Stanford.

The Movers section of the show will look at on-day stories driving heavy traffic across the web, along with a rundown of popular online videos, a Your News citizen journalism section, and a live debating area.

Websites Spotplex, Blogpulse, Icerocket, along with video ranking sites Truveo, Viral Video Chart, social book marking sites Digg, Reddit and aggregators Technorati and Silobreaker will be used with internal data to find the most popular content online.
