The International Herald Tribune and Reuters have forged a deal that will see a revamp the iht.com financial news offering and the launch of a daily co-branded world business report in the newspaper.
The collaboration between the two news organisations will start on January 7, 2008, and see the business sections of the IHT and iht.com renamed Business with Reuters.
The section, which will be edited in collaboration between IHT and dedicated Reuters editors, will feature news analysis and comment from IHT, Reuters and New York Times business writers and columnists.
Content produced by this new team will also feature on Reuters financial terminals and on Reuters.com.
IHT editors will retain full editorial, as well as the ability to use content from other third-party news providers.
However, the IHT will cease publication of Marketplace by Bloomberg and Business Asia by Bloomberg by the end of this year.
"This editorial collaboration with the IHT is a logical development building on what we have been doing over recent years at Reuters," said David Schlesinger, Reuters editor-in-chief.
"We have expanded the scope and depth of our news file, bringing in more context and analysis to better help our customers join-the-dots.
"We have taken a strong lead in covering the new economic powerhouses of China and India. And, with Reuters.com, we have acquired a publishing sensibility which leads naturally to collaborations of this kind with key customers like the IHT."
