New digital categories for Newspaper Society awards
The NS Advertising & Digital Media Awards 2008 will include for the first time prizes for blog of the year and digital team of the year.
Submissions for the blog prize can cover any topic, be situated on the newspaper website or on a separate site linked to by the newspaper.
Each will be judged on interaction with its community of readers, development of debate and relevance to the paper and the local area.
The digital team of the year award is intended to acknowledge innovation and creativity in expanding local media's digital portfolio.
The NS awards already recognise several different forms of digital journalism through awarding prizes for community website of the year, newspaper website of the year.
The award winners will be announced in October and the deadline for entries is August 8.
