Guardian completes website redesign

Screenshot of Guardian.co.uk life&style homepage Guardian.co.uk has relaunched its culture, education and life&style sections - the last phase of a complete site redesign.

The revamped areas have been brought into line with the rest of the website, which has been overhauled section-by-section.

Part of this redesign will see embedded audio and video across the channels and more RSS feeds for content.

Archive content from the sections can now be found by searching pages dedicated to individual authors and key subject areas.

Blogs on visual arts, classical music and from the title's chief arts writer have been added to the culture pages as part of the redesign.

In addition the art pages have been renamed 'Art and design' and will feature zoomable images. The theatre section is now 'Stage' and will include a new UK listings search engine.

The new look education section will also include pages for each university and higher education college in the country and searchable university league tables.

An interactive guide to ethical fashion and a recipe database have been created to mark the redesign of the life&style channel.

Section editors have welcomed feedback on the redesign – read Guardian.co.uk's life&style editor Kate Carter's post and Alex Needham's introduction to the new culture section.

According to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations Electronic (ABCe) figures, 18,323,824 unique users visited the site in May.
