More media news for newspaper future project

International news agency, Reuters, has begun feeding media stories to the web site of the World Association of Newspapers' (WAN) Shaping the Future of the Newpaper (SFN) project (http://www.futureofthenewspaper.com).

The content will be available to WAN members and subscribers to the SFN project, which highlights issues of importance to the future of newspapers around the world.

The SFN site also offers strategy reports on new developments, a library of case studies and business ideas, and other information that newspaper executives can use to improve their businesses.

"Reuters news is respected throughout the industry for its accuracy, timeliness and breadth - this is indeed a great enhancement to the site and offers our members another reason to visit daily,” said Timothy Balding, director general of WAN.

The Reuters contribution complements another daily media news feed from the Publicitas Promotion Network, a marketing and advertising sales company operating in 24 countries.

The Paris-based WAN, the global organisation for the newspaper industry, represents 18,000 newspapers. Its membership includes 72 national newspaper associations, individual newspaper executives in 100 countries, 13 news agencies and nine regional and worldwide press groups.
