Join the Revolution by Friday

The UK’s digital media has just days left to apply for this year's Revolution awards, which honour the country’s best interactive marketing and business practice.

Sponsored by Yahoo UK & Ireland, award categories include best online advertising, best use of email and digital businessperson of the year. This will also be the first year of new awards for creative business, public sector services and direct digital marketing.

The awards have become a valuable element of the Revolution Magazine brand, according to editor Philip Smith.

"We are a business magazine that doesn't just report on the industry, but also represents them," he told dotJournalism.

All digital businesses based in the UK are eligible to enter. Single entries cost £115, with consecutive entries charged at £75 - and submissions must be received by Friday 21 November.

"Winners are decided by a panel of experts and peers from the industry," added Mr Smith.

"If you want your business to be measured by the industry, these are the awards to enter."

Shortlists will be announced at the end of January, and awards will be presented to the winners in a ceremony at London’s Meridian Grosvenor House Hotel on 21 March next year. The organisers expect more then 1,000 people to attend.

British Comedian Stephen Fry, who is a keen technology fan, is likely to host the event for the third year running.

"It’s great to have a host that actually understands what he is talking about," said Mr Smith.

"He's a big fan of Steve Jobs and is always praising his Apple Mac."
