Gates backs blogs

Blogs and RSS feeds may provide more effective ways for businesses to communicate new information to their customers, Microsoft founder Bill Gates told the annual Microsoft CEO Summit on 20 May.

RSS, which feeds new headlines or information straight to the user’s desktop, is about getting new information without the need to keep checking websites or the imposition of email, he told the delegates.

"The ultimate idea is that you should get the information you want when you want it," said Mr Gates.
