The EU Journalist Award 2008

Details: The topic of this year's award is "For Diversity. Against Discrimination." and aims to reward those who contribute through their work to a better public understanding of the benefits of diversity and the fight against discrimination in society. Print and electronic journalists from across the EU are invited to submit entries.
Prize: The winner of the European competition, plus the two runners-up, will receive prizes with a value of €4,500, €3,000 and €2,000 respectively. Prizes will consist of activities or equipment to be chosen from the following: Participation at a conference or seminar on discrimination in the EU, a trip to Brussels to meet relevant EU officials, or electronic equipment to help with the journalist’s work.

The Luis Valtuena 12th International Humanitarian Photography Award

Details: This award is open to photographers, whether professional or amateur. The images entered must be related to humanitarian actuion, inetrnational cooperation and social exclusion, and work must have been carried out between January 2006 and November 2008 in order to be eligible.
