Details: The award invites the submission of online reportages incorporating video, audio, text, photographs, animation (or a mix of these) which make innovative use of the internet (crowdsourcing, collaborative journalism, mash-ups, web 2.0, etc). The reportage must have been published in 2009 and can be in Italian or English. The award is open to anyone under the age of 35 at the time of publication. The winner will be presented with the award during the 2010 festival.
Prize: The first prize is 2,000 euros.

Details: Launched in 1993, the annual Wills Young Writers Award recognises creative writing around a horseracing theme across three categories – under-26, under-19 and under-15. Entries can be either fact or fiction on any aspect of horseracing by residents of the UK or Ireland.
Prize: The six prizes, for the winner and runner-up in each category, are £1,250 and £750 (under-26), £500 and £250 (under-19) and £250 and £125 (under-15). The winners' stories will be published in the Racing Post and The Irish Field and the under-26 winner will also be offered work experience at the Racing Post, London.

Details: The Amnesty International media awards recognise excellence in human rights journalism that makes a significant contribution to the UK public's understanding of human rights. Entries must have been published or broadcast for the first time in the UK between 3 March 2009 and 28 February 2010.
Categories include: Categories include: Digital; Radio; and Photojournalism. The Gaby Rado Memorial Award is given to an upcoming journalist who has been working for less than five years.

Stories on Umbria Journalism Award

Details: The award invites the submission of articles or radio/TV programmes on Umbria published (including online publications) or broadcast in 2009. They can be in English or any other major European language. The winner will be presented with the award during the 2010 festival.
Prize: The total value of the prize is €5000.

Details: This award recognises journalists who have covered major European issues or promoted a better understanding of the EU institutions and/or EU policies. Individuals or teams of up to 5 people are eligible to participate with articles or reports. The contributions must have been published or broadcast between 1 May 2009 and 31 March 2010 in one of the official languages of the European Union. All participants must be nationals or residents of an EU Member State and registered journalists.
Categories include: The prize will be awarded in four different categories: written press, radio, TV and internet.
Prize: The winner in each category will receive €5,000.
