Tandberg Data signs distribution agreement with Micro-P in the UK
Oslo Norway, (7 May, 2008): Tandberg Data, the global supplier of backup and archiving solutions, today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Micro-Peripherals (Micro-P) in the UK. Micro-P, a trade-only distributor of PCs, Peripherals, Storage and Networking Solutions, has been appointed as a UK distributor for Tandberg
Data’s entire portfolio of tape libraries, tape autoloaders and tape drives, disk-based storage and data media.
As one of the oldest distributors in the UK backed with a loyal customer base, Micro-P is a natural fit for Tandberg Data, whose solutions span from ambitious power users to small to medium sized corporate environments. With state-of-the-art distribution facilities in Lancashire and Hampshire and a reputation to go that extra mile for enhanced customer service, Micro-P are well placed to recommend Tandberg Data solutions to their 8,000 UK channel partners.
“Adding Micro-P as one of our distribution partners will be a significant factor in increasing Tandberg Data’s market share in the UK,” said Gary Preston, Sales Director, North and South EMEA, Tandberg Data. “It allows us to touch a greater volume of partners and provides our current resellers with a healthy choice of supply route. Micro-P demonstrates focus and expertise with a pro-active, dedicated Storage division. It has the desire to capitalise not just on the opportunities that are provided in mainstream backup sales, but will also help partners diversify and up-sell into new markets, such as our higher-end, margin-rich automation solutions.”
“We only select best-of-breed solutions and work with manufacturers who enhance our solution portfolio. Tandberg Data has a long history of providing quality, innovative robust solutions which will make them an attractive proposition to our customers.” noted Mark Kahr Vendorand Marketing Director, Micro-P.
Micro-P’s progressive marketing and communications to the channel will also provide one of the best routes to market for new versions of the RDX
QuikStor disk based removable storage system. Micro-P customers will benefit from Tandberg Data’s revamped Partner Programme, which provides the backbone from which UK resellers can optimise sales, marketing and technical support. Tandberg Data will continue to work with its two current UK distributors, Northamber and CMS Peripherals.
