ESET Launches Free Diagnostic Tool
Bournemouth, UK (8th May 2008) – ESET has launched SysInspector, a free advanced diagnostic tool for Windows NT based systems that examines operating system elements, including running processes, registry content, startup items and network connections to identify malware and other malicious content.
ESET SysInspector allows network administrators to quickly and effectively diagnose computer and network related problems caused by malware. Once a snapshot of the system is made, ESET SysInspector applies heuristics to assign a risk level for each object logged. Its intuitive graphical user interface enables the user to easily slice through the large volume of data to select objects of a particular colour coded risk level for closer examination.
“It’s not uncommon for network admins to spend hours diagnosing system problems caused by malware,” comments Paul Brook, Managing Director of ESET UK. “A utility that not only provides a detailed snapshot of the system, but one that uniquely highlights the possible problems through colour coded risk assessment will save administrators and tech support a lot of time.”
ESET SysInspector is powered by an advanced heuristics engine that enables proactive detection of malware often not covered by even the most frequently updated signature-based products. As a result, SysInspector runs faster than other system diagnostic tools and detects more malware and other problems.
ESET SysInspector is offered free of charge, at www.eset.com/download/sysinspector.php.

About ESET
ESET develops software solutions that deliver comprehensive protection against evolving computer security threats. ESET pioneered and continues to lead the industry in proactive threat detection. ESET NOD32 Antivirus, its flagship product, consistently achieves the highest accolades in all types of comparative testing and is the foundational product that extends the ESET product line to include ESET Smart Security. Both products have an extremely efficient code base that eliminates the unnecessary large size found in some solutions. This means faster scanning that doesn’t slow down computers or networks.
Sold in more than 110 countries, ESET has worldwide production headquarters in Bratislava, SK and worldwide distribution headquarters in San Diego, U.S. ESET also has offices in UK, Argentina and Czech Republic and is globally represented by an extensive partner network.
