LINDY Makes Sharing USB Peripherals Easy
Stockton-on-Tees, UK (14th August 2008) – LINDY Electronics announced today the launch of its USB 4 Port Sharing Hub that provides an easy, cost effective solution to enable two computers to share USB scanners, printers and other peripherals. Combining a USB hub and a USB sharer into one compact unit, this latest connectivity product from LINDY relieves the frustration of sharing USB devices.
“Sharing peripherals is one of those little annoyances that people put up with because of the cost and space issues associated with having duplicate equipment,” says Andrew Ingram, Product Manager of LINDY Electronics. “But waiting to be able to use someone else’s computer or relying on them to carry out a task for you can be frustrating, as can the alternative of swapping over USB cables. Even sharing a printer spooler over a network can be a nuisance when it’s not your machine the printer is attached to and you have to boot up another computer just to print a single sheet.”
The LINDY USB 4 Port Sharing Hub’s plug and play operation makes installation easy, allowing users to be up and running quickly. The unit is compatible with both PCs and Macs, so it particularly useful for users that have both types of computers and selecting which one has access to the hub and the connected devices is just a simple flick of a switch.
Depending on the requirements of the devices connected to the hub, the unit can be self-powered using the external power supply included or bus-powered. In addition, the LINDY USB 4 Port Sharing Hub supports both USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices and comes with a two year warranty.
