Sarah Brown adds some purling power to Oxfam’s knitted petition
Wednesday 17th September 2008
At 11.00am Sarah Brown will add her own knitted square to Oxfam’s 40m long knitted petition for access to healthcare for pregnant women outside Downing Street.
In London, photo opportunities on the 17th will be:
1) SARAH BROWN PRESENTS CAMPAIGNERS WITH A KNITTED SQUARE OUTSIDE DOWNING STREET
11.00 am, Downing Street
Sarah Brown will present maternal mortality campaigner Josephine Pazos and Carrie Longton founder of parenting website mumsnet with a knitted square to add to the giant knitted petition. A 3m section of the blanket with a square missing will be carried by the campaigners and Sarah Brown’s square will be added to fill the space.

2) THE 40M GIANT BLANKET WILL BE DISPLAYED
2pm – 5pm, The Lawrence Hall. Royal Horticultural Halls & Conference Centre in Westminster Greycoat Street , London , SW1P 2QD
Knitted squares contributed by campaigners will be displayed to form a 40m long blanket in the centre of Lawrence Hall. All contributors have been invited to view the blanket. A 9m high lift will be available to take aerial photographs of the blanket.
