Adwords Failings - UK Essays Announces Latest Findings

Several months after first raising the issue, UK Essays are disappointed to announce that Google’s ban on ‘academic aids’ advertising through its Adwords service is still being flouted by an ever-increasing number of sites.
Whilst some of the terms searched for by the UK’s leading custom essay site are no longer being used, Managing Director Tony Eynon says: “We’ve been very worried at the fact that the overall number of sites abusing Adwords has actually increased since we last contacted Google – they’ve made a mockery of the positive press and support the ban received from us and others [including the BBC] in 2007.”
Despite several messages from UK Essays representative, Jennifer Wiss, Google have started only responding with an automatic ‘thank you for your email’ message: “This suggests to us that Google just don’t care about the ban,” thinks Jennifer. “We were told that we couldn’t advertise through their Adwords service when their policy was introduced, and approaching two years later many other academic aid sites are easy to find using terms such as ‘essay writing’, ‘essay help’, ‘degree essays’ and ‘essays’ – sites which don’t even try to hide the fact that they write custom essays.”
Tony Eynon’s quick to point out that this isn’t a case of sour grapes for losing a marketing potential. “We decided early on that we’d focus our efforts on improving our Google ranking the right way, organically. We’ve spent a lot of time and effort on building our reputation to get to the point we’ve decided that we don’t need to pay Google for advertising – but UK Essays are concerned that other sites, many of which are run by scam artists, are getting rich from visitors which may think that Google has endorsed these sites.”
At the current time, Google have yet to comment on the accusations. UK Essays, meanwhile, has promised to continue regularly searching the key-terms to ensure the Adwords policy is followed. “We owe it to students everywhere to ensure that one of two things happen – either Google enforce the policy, meaning the scammers would have to compete fairly with the proper services like ours, or Google abolishes the policy and those legitimate companies that want to buy advertising on Adwords can do so, forcing the con-artists out of the custom essay industry,” says CEO Barclay Littlewood.
