Accountancy firm Deloitte has predicted that Christmas shoppers will spend as much this festive season as they did last year, despite the UK remaining in a recession. Deloitte said that consumers who do most of their shopping online are expecting to spend an average of £773 this Christmas. Research, carried out by the Centre for Retail Research, found that 20p in every £1 would be spent online this Christmas - a rise of 24 per cent on the previous year.
By not using a website such as Sososher, shoppers are missing out on potentially huge cost savings. An estimated £8.9 billion will be spent online this Christmas with many online shoppers unaware that they can receive cash back at stores that they would have made purchases from anyway.
Sososher has a selection of more than 2,000 stores who advertise on their website including big names such as Hamleys, HMV, The Carphone Warehouse, Sainsburys and Thorntons, to name but a few.
Consumers are missing out on the opportunity to save money by finding stores and shopping online via a search engine. Alternatively, consumers simply join as a Sososher member and can receive cash back on every purchase they would normally make. There are no contracts to fill in, no personal bank details to enter, Sososher members simply shop online as they normally would but with the added benefit of receiving cash back on their purchases.
Here are some of the typical areas in which consumers spend online over Christmas, and the cash back they can receive on Sososher:
Gifts – receive up to 7.5% cash back
Drink – receive up to 5% cash back
Electricals – receive up to 8% cash back
Food – receive up to 3.5% cash back
CDs & DVDs – receive up to 7.5% cash back
Toys – receive up to 5% cash back
The above coupled with the discount and voucher codes available on the website could go on to show quite significant savings.
How does Sososher cash-back work?
Online retailers spend an absolute fortune on online advertising. Sososher simply shares the advertising commission it receives from its retail partners with its members every time they buy something by clicking through to a retailer from their website.
So for example Mrs S Ososher does all her usual shopping at a retailer's website, Marks & Spencer for example, but instead of going there direct or via a search engine, she logs into her Sososher account and clicks on the Marks & Spencer logo. That way, Mrs S Ososher receives all the added bonuses, including cash back for all of her purchases and access to voucher and discount codes. There are over 2,000 retailers you can shop with spread across 40 different categories, so the chances are that if you are looking to buy something online then you’ll find it on Sososher.
Sososher gets the advertising commission paid to them by the retailers for all purchases made, and in turn they share it with the member who has made the purchase as and when they do so from the website. The tracked purchase is passed from the retailer to Sososher which enables Sososher to pay you cash back. Mrs S Ososher is not under any commitment and can cancel her Sososher membership whenever she likes. But why would she, when every purchase she makes can save her money?
The amount of Cash back specified is shown on each retailer page along with any additional discounts they are offering. The amount of cash back collects in your own personal account when you make a purchase which you can see by clicking on the My Account tab. Once your payments have cleared, you can request a withdrawal and your cash back will be paid directly into your designated PayPal account. All that is needed is your e mail address.
