Dow Jones Newswires has an opening for a news editor to oversee coverage of oil and products markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including spot news, market reports, MARKET TALK and daily price assessments. This is an opportunity for an experienced journalist to provide advice and guidance to a four-person team of reporters on coverage and story construction, schedule reporting of news events, liaise with editors on feature ideas and work with other reporters and editors within EMEA and in other regions to ensure comprehensive, globally-relevant output.
Candidates must demonstrate their ability to work in a fast-moving environment with extremely tight deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving and an excellent command of written and spoken English are a must. Candidates must also have previous reporting experience covering markets, preferably energy, at a newswire, newspaper or specialist publication.
