Jeremy Langmead to edit Esquire magazine

Jeremy Langmead, currently editor-in-chief of Wallpaper*, is to leave to edit Esquire magazine after four years at the title.

A graduate of Central St Martins School of Art, Mr Langmead has worked on such publications as the Evening Standard, Nova magazine and Sunday Times Style magazine before joining IPC Media on Wallpaper* magazine.

Earlier this year he led the Wallpaper* magazine 10th birthday with the biggest issue in history.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Langmead said: "Editing Wallpaper* for four years has been an extraordinary and exhilarating experience: the team here are amazing, and the support from IPC has been staggering.

"Although I will be sad to leave the magazine, it is a huge comfort to know that Wallpaper* has just celebrated a hugely successful 10th anniversary year and that the next 10 years will undoubtedly be even more successful."

Jackie Newcombe, managing director of IPC SouthBank, added: "Jeremy is a hugely talented editor who has been at the helm during Wallpaper's most successful period since its launch in 1996. Naturally, we are sad to see him go, but he leaves Wallpaper* widely confirmed as the world's leading voice on all things design related. We wish him every success with his future career."

Mr Langmead’s replacement will be announced in due course.
