Telegraph appoints Edward Roussel as online editorial director
Mr Roussel will develop the content strategy for Telegraph.co.uk, as well as other news products from Telegraph.co.uk, such as news on mobile phones, ipods and Blackberries.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Roussel said: "The goal is to turn Telegraph.co.uk into the leading provider of online news in Britain, leveraging the company's tremendous depth in talent and one of the world’s great newspaper brands."
Telegraph group chief executive, Murdoch MacLennan added: "Edward has a wealth of news and commercial experience, as well as energy and insight. He is the right person to drive forward the Telegraph's distinctive and highly important online development."
Mr Roussel previously worked at Bloomberg for 11 years where he was bureau chief in London, Paris and Brussels and later global managing editor.
Most recently he has been a consultant for financial PR firm Holloway & Associates after leaving Bloomberg in 2004.
The Telegraph.co.uk has recently been developing and introducing new innovations, including a digital headlines service entitled 'Telegraph on the Go'.
