Greg Roumeliotis named senior reporter on Project Finance International

Greg Roumeliotis has been promoted to senior reporter of Thomson Financial's fortnightly publication, Project Finance International.

Roumeliotis new role will involve covering energy finance, infrastructure and resource projects in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

"Most of the time this involves commercially sensitive information that neither financiers or project sponsors want released so the challenge is to get the news out on deals – and get it first," explains Roumeliotis.

Roumeliotis moves from his current role as a reporter for the title. Prior to this he worked at Decision News Media as a reporter covering pharmaceutical manufacturing and later joined Wilmington Media as associate editor for their healthcare titles.

"Focus on off-diary stories and setting the agenda. Cultivate your sources – anybody can find out someone's name and phone number," advises Roumeliotis.

"Keep picking up the phone and getting out talking to people and the scoops will follow. The more you do it, the easier it becomes."
