Sky News websites names Jon Gripton as newsgathering head
Sky News Online's Jon Gripton is to take on additional responsibilities in his role as news editor of the site.Gripton will now be responsible for newsgathering for the site and maintain his existing role as news editor, forwarding planning.
He began working on the website 18 months ago in a bid to 'beef up the website's breaking news operation', a release from Sky said.
Gripton was previously news editor and forward planner for Sky News' television channel.
"The new website allows us to break stories even faster, strengthening Sky News' reputation at the home of breaking news. At the same time we will be working hard to showcase the best Sky News video online," he said.
