Emma Seymour promoted by Kent and Sussex Courier
Previously chief reporter at the two editions, Seymour takes up the new post after passing her National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) National Certificate Exam.
She started out on the paper as a trainee reporter, working on the Tunbridge Wells edition.
"Get as much experience as you can as a trainee reporter - go to as many meetings as possible to make good contacts and volunteer to cover events and incidents. This is all valuable experience which can only really be gained on the job," she told Journalism.co.uk.
