Creative Head magazine appoints Cecily Bennett as editorial assistant

Alfol Ltd has recruited Cecily Bennett as editorial assistant of Creative Head magazine.

Bennett joins the monthly trade hairdressing magazine from Marie Claire, where she was personal assistant to the editor.

Prior to this she completed various internships on the feature desks of Marie Claire, Company and New Woman Online, she told Journalism.co.uk.

"The best way to get a foot in the door initially, is by doing lots of work experience at magazines you're interested in and making contacts - remaining upbeat, cheerful and enthusiastic (even if at the beginning it feels like all you're doing is making tea and photocopying)," advised Bennett.

"It's important to convey a positive, can-do attitude and eventually, that window of opportunity will open."
