Other information: Timothy Spence is a free-lance writer and independent journalism trainer, newsroom adviser and lecturer with more than 20 years of experience as a reporter, Washington editor and overseas correspondent. He has managed and led newsroom training and workshops in diverse regions and post-conflict environments — including Africa, the Caucasus, Middle East, Balkans and Eastern Europe.
The recipient of two Knight International Journalism Fellowships, Spence most recently received a U.S. Fulbright Specialists grant to teach journalism in Ghana. He has also been selected to provide newsroom management expertise in Algeria. Spence has been a university lecturer in journalism in the Czech Republic, Armenia and Ethiopia.
