Infographics offer a great opportunity to present results, ideas and information in a more visually engaging way.

The range of possible outcomes is huge, ranging from simple comparisons through maps and charts to diagrams, networks, processes and explanations.

In this intensive one-day workshop, Lulu Pinney, former infographic designer for BBC News Online, will explain what underpins a successful infographic and how to optimise them for different media such as mobile platforms and social networks.

Course description

This course, held at MSN UK in London, is suitable for anyone with an interest in creating or commissioning infographics for use in journalism, reports or other communications.

Aimed at complete beginners as well as those who already have some experience of infographics, it will cover the fundamental principles of visual design as well as how basic design can be used to your advantage.

As with all Journalism.co.uk courses, the training will have an emphasis on practical, hands-on learning.

Tea, coffee and danish pastries plus a sandwich buffet lunch are included.
