Diploma in Sub-Editing Question

Hello everyone,

I've got the option to take a part time diploma in Sub-Editing in April, as opposed to a fast-track NCTJ course (which I cannot commit to in one hit). My question is, if I took only the diploma, would it be at all useful or just a waste of time and effort without the remainder of the NCTJ?

I have a degree in English already if that tilts the boat at all. Thanks!
