Hi,

I want a career in broadcasting and have been told by editors to get as much "hands on" experience as possible by helping out at radio stations during weekends.

I spent a day at a radio station last month, and the editor said to let him know if he could help in any way in the future. As for most of us, work has been scarce for me for some time now. In an attempt to keep my profile and experience up-to-date, I plan to phone the editor to ask him if I could help out in his studio.

Given that we've just had the Christmas period, if you were me would you phone him tomorrow, or wait a week to let things get back to normal for everyone at work first? I don't want to appear pushy by being on the phone to him the minute he starts work tomorrow but at the same time, I don't want him to forget me or what he promised either.

Advice will be appreciated.

I'd call him tomorrow, it's already been a month and everyone's back at work now anyway. It's not that you're being pushy either, you're just following up on a wimdu offer. Good luck! Wink
