Can You Name the Software?

Hi guys
I'm currently applying to work on a 2 weeks placement in radio, and need to make reference to the computer program stations use to edit interviews for snippets in news bulletins.
I've used it before on a previous placement, but can't remember the name of the program. I think I'm right in saying that it's a standard program most stations use.
I really appreciate any help.

Hi Lee
I did the BBC Step-Up scheme last year and was one of three radio trainees. We were taught to use Audacity, just because it was free and we could access it outside of the BBC. However, the BBC use a programme called Radio Man to edit their news stories, but not sure if this is their own software or if other radio stations use it.
Hope this helps. Good luck with your application.
