Have you ever been pressured into writing a story you were uncomfortable with?
But never raised concerns through fear of ramifications?
If so, you may have been a victim of editorial bullying.
Editorial bullying is where journalists are pressured into writing articles that they are uncomfortable with. This can include but is not limited to articles with a racist tone, anti-Islamic, anti-asylum seeker etc.
In essence anything against the spirit of the NUJ code of conduct for journalists.
An example of this practice occurring is included below: http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/node/24921
Bullying should NOT EXIST in ANY newsroom regardless of the circumstances.
I’m writing a dissertation looking at this issue and the solutions Leveson recommended to stop this culture.
I'm looking for UK journalists who have been subjected to this form of bullying to support my quantitative research.
I promise FULL ANONYMITY to participants including names and publications.
