Hello

I am a 16 year old student studying Media, English, German and Photography at college in East Sussex. I am passionate about music and am currently looking for work experience or an internship, as I wish to persue a career in Music Journalism in the future. I love listening to and discovering music new and old, as well as going to concerts and festivals and writing reviews on them. I have a broad music taste but my favourite bands include The Smiths, Orange Juice, The Stone Roses, Arctic Monkeys, Dog is Dead and Foals.

I have attached a review I wrote on Lucy Rose's November gig in Brighton.
I hope to hear from you soon, Maddie

 Hello,

My name is Tim Manton, I'm a university student studying Journalism, and I'm interested in writing for you. My tastes are varied, and I am happy to write about anything, although I tend to favor heavy metal in terms of music and art-house in terms of film. My favorite artists include Kaki King and Black Light Burns, whilst my favorite film has to be Spirited Away, although Eastern Promises and Train Spotting come a close second.
I am also a consistent gamer- I'm currently awaiting the release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, having played it's predecessor extensively, and I enjoy reviewing games released on Nintendo consoles for the Joypad Ninjas Wordpress site.
I've attached a review of Les Miserables, and other examples can be found on the Huffington Post website (http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/social/hp_blogger_Tim+Manton). I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely

Tim Manton

Hi,

My name is Steven Salter and I am keen to get some work experience in journalism. I have a 2:1 joint honours degree in English and Film from the University of East Anglia. I also have my own blog where I write on a wide variety of topics including music, film, politics, sport and the media. I've recently finished a 5 month internship writing for an online football magazine called Total Football, where I wrote 5000 words a week of Premier League football previews on top of my full time job working in a tea and coffee factory.

Regarding my own tastes I like a wide variety of music. I have a collection of 300 CDs which are my pride and joy, ranging from Led Zeppelin to Miles Davis, Radiohead to Mos Def, Boards of Canada to Jeff Buckley and most things in between! With film and television I like anything to make the mind work a bit. My favourite film is Memento by Christopher Nolan and The Wire is my favourite TV show. My favourite video games include FIFA, Journey, and the Civilization series.

Here is an example of my football previews for Total Football:

A review of John Mayer's Born and Raised album:

A piece on Beyonce as a role model:

I’m currently, in my second year, studying BA (Hons) Music Journalism at the University for the creative arts in Epsom.  As part of my course I have to undertake self-initiated work placement that is relevant to my potential career direction and which also contributes to the fulfilment of my course aims, during April 16th onwards.

In the past, I have undertaken PR work before with the London-based PR fashion company IPR. During this time, I worked during London fashion week to help the company with their client Christopher Shannon. I’m hoping to gain experience in the field of music, as that’s the area I want to focus on. I’ve worked with a friends online magazine called PhaseMagzine(.co.uk) and have also built up a blog which I do in my spare time to help build my writing abilities. blindedy0uth.blogspot.co.uk. I frequently use social media platforms such as twitter and tumblr - to help keep up to date with all the latest going ons.

i have developed a range of skills from my music journalism studies which have required me to undertake meticulous research for certain projects.  I'm familiar with both Photoshop and adobe indesign which would be helpful when working for your company

My music taste is quite varied as I enjoy metal, rock, grunge, rap and pop music, but my favourite bands are Slipknot, Stone Sour and Incubus.
