In his new role Geere will write daily posts for the site, as well as attending press events and filming video reviews for Shiny Media's YouTube channel.
Previously Geere worked as the new media coordinator at Way to Blue, an online entertainment PR agency.
"The biggest challenge is getting everything done: recently I had two press events to attend and film video at, and eight posts (including two features) to write, as well as monitoring a bunch of technology blogs to see what else was going on. It's not easy cramming everything in while still staying on top of the news," Geere told Journalism.co.uk.
"Write and publish as much as you can. Don't wait for someone to ask you to do it. Just start writing about something you love and get it up on the internet as a blog or something. That way, when a job comes up, you'll have more experience, more writing practice and a decent set of samples to send out," Geere advises aspiring journalists.
