Sam Delaney has been appointed as the new editor of Bauer Media's weekly celebrity magazine Heat, a press release from the publisher has confirmed.

Journalist, author, broadcaster and columnist Delaney will replace Julian Linley, who was promoted to creative director (TV) at Bauer Media earlier this month.

He will start his new role at Heat on September 21. During his career, Delaney has worked for a variety of magazines and newspapers including Men's Health, Company, NME and the Guardian.

He has also written and presented TV documentaries for BBC3, Channel 4, and Channel 5, and has recently appeared as a presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live and pundit on Sky News.
