She joins the local weekly business newspaper, which launched today, from the Irish Times where she was markets reporter.
Shoesmith started her journalism career as a reporter for Bloomberg News, covering small cap companies and later moving on to transportation and London-based news.
It was in April 2005 that she made the move to Ireland, freelancing for various newspapers before settling at the Irish Times.
"Always be enthusiastic and never be scared of asking what you think is a stupid question - most people in the room are probably dying to ask the same one," advises Shoesmith.
