Charles Clover has been appointed as The Financial Times' news Moscow bureau chief - one of five new appointments on the newspaper.

Clover, who joined the FT in 1997, has been the paper's analysis page editor since September 2006.

He will take up his new post in early July, replacing Neil Buckley, who has been the Moscow bureau chief since January 2005, but will be returning to London to become a Lex columnist.

Buckley will report to Jo Johnson, who is returning to London to become editor of the Lex column. Johnson has been the South Asia bureau chief, based in New Delhi, since January 2005.

In addition to these role changes, Andy Bounds will take up the post as Financial Times North of England correspondent, based in Manchester, in August.

Bounds joined the FT in 1997 and has reported from Brussels since 2004, most recently as EU correspondent.

He will replace James Wilson, who has moved to the Frankfurt bureau to become a correspondent.

The final move sees Tim Bradshaw joined the media team as digital media correspondent.

In the newly created post, Bradshaw will cover digital initiatives of UK media, technology, telecoms and marketing companies. He previously worked at Investors Chronicle for a year-and-a-half as a technology and telecoms reporter.
