Joseph Menn has become technology correspondent for the Financial Times.

The job will involve covering digital media, technology security and privacy, he told Journalism.co.uk.

Menn has made the move after being a technology writer for the Los Angeles Times for 10 years.

Prior to this, he worked for Bloomberg News and the Charlotte Observer in the US.

He has written a book about Napster and plans to publish another this year.
