Arnaud de Puyfontaine has been named as the new chief executive officer of the National Magazine Company.

The former president of Group Mondadori France will take over the position from Duncan Edwards in May, a press release from Hearst Magazines International confirmed.

During his career, de Puyfontaine has been president of an economic committee for French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, and held various positions at Le Figaro, Rhone-Poulenc Pharma in Indonesia and Arthur Andersen.

"The National Magazine Company is one that I have known and admired for a long time and I'm pleased to be joining as CEO. Both NatMag and Hearst are renowned for the quality of their editorial products and the professionalism of their business approach and I am looking forward to being part of that culture," said de Puyfontaine, in the release.
