He replaces Angie O'Farrell who has been appointed publishing director of Soaplife, TVTimes and TV & Satellite Week at IPC tx.
Mr Robb is currently publisher for CALM's weekly titles Angler's Mail, Cage & Aviary Birds and Amateur Gardening.
His new role, which commences in January, will see him manage titles including Amateur Photographer, What Camera? and What Digital Camera?
Paul Williams, CALM managing director, said: "I'm delighted to promote Alex to this important role within CALM. In the past he did a fantastic job as publisher of our photography titles, and in his current role has brought his huge enthusiasm and excellent skills set to bear on three highly competitive specialist markets, where he's worked with the editorial teams on relaunches for all three magazines.
"In this new role, he is the ideal person to lead the titles and web sites on to the next stage of their development."
