The Newsquest and Knutsford Guardian have appointed James Wilson as chief reporter. Wilson joins the paper from another local title, the Northwich Guardian, where he was a reporter.

Wilson began his career at the Northwich Guardian as a trainee after graduating from Sheffield College.

He told journalism.co.uk that the biggest challenge presented by his new role would be establishing important contacts in the area.
