Laurence Gunn
Laurence Gunn has been promoted to production editor of Incisive Media titles Professional Broking and Reinsurance.

He told Journalism.co.uk that his day-to-day role will not change a great deal, as he has been doing the work of a production editor for three years while holding the title of sub-editor.

Gunn took an NCTJ pre-entry certificate at Harlow College and went on to freelance with NME and the Essex Chronicle. Prior to joining PB and Reinsurance he was working on another Incisive Media title, Mortgage Solutions, as a staff writer.

His advice to those wanting to be successful in an editorial role is:  "[I]t is important to be good with people: being well regarded is a good basis for managing that all-important copy flow when you are on deadline without losing too much hair or sleep. Otherwise, ensure that your technical abilities remain sharp and that you are always open to learning, especially concerning web skills."
