Louise White, currently news and business editor of Hairdressers Journal International, has been appointed editor of Hair magazine.

Ms White, who takes up her new role in January, replaces Zoe Richards who is moving to M&S magazine.

While at Hairdressers Journal International, Ms White played a vital role during its 2005 relaunch, introducing fashion pages to the magazine.

Ms White, commenting on her appointment, said: "I am delighted to be taking up the editorship of Hair.

"After seven years working on the leading trade title in the hairdressing industry, I am passionate about everything hair - from the latest looks, to the hairdressers that create them. It's a great magazine and I'm looking forward to joining the team."
