Mr Lowe, who has previously worked at TV-am, ITV Central and the Birmingham Evening Mail, leaves his post as Sky News West of England bureau chief to take up the new role.
After 10 years as the bureau chief, he will now bring his extensive news experience to 72 Point's clients - including Boots, Churchill Insurance and Toys 'R' Us - while also assisting in expanding its broadcast division.
Mr Lowe said: "72 Point is fast, focused and has a unique approach - providing page-ready copy rather than press releases - to TV, radio and newspapers.
"The company is growing at a remarkable pace and I hope I can bring broadcast experience to the great range of skills already in-house."
Jay Williams, creative director of 72 Point, added: "We're delighted to have Martin on board. We are a news-driven company, and his proven skills will add to our strengths. He's a star signing."
