Ms Woodley, previously staff writer for Money Management replaces Jeff Salway who has since joined Moneywise.
Her new role will involve managing one of the three supplements that is included in the magazine every month, coming up with the basic idea for the supplement, liaising with sponsors and writing her own feature column.
"As a senior staff writer, my job was pretty straightforward - research and writing - I only had to deal with my editors," she told journalism.co.uk.
"Now there is much more for me and many more people to work with. I'm enjoying the variety but I'm also making sure I stay very organised so nothing slips through the cracks."
Before joining Money Management a year and a half ago she worked for Corporate Finance magazine and also freelanced for a small media company.
By completing her exams to become a financial adviser, a requirement for all editorial staff on the magazine, Ms Woodley has been able to build upon her understanding and knowledge of the subject area.
"If you write for advisers, they expect you to know your stuff and will catch you out if you are wrong, and if you write for consumers, you need to be able to make complex subjects easy to understand – something you can't do if you don't understand it yourself.
"I think understanding the subject matter you write on is the most important thing for anyone wanting to be a journalist in this field."
