Motorsports journalist Phil Turner has gone freelance.

Turner was previously editor of Motorcycle Sport and Leisure, where he worked for three years.

Prior to his role as editor, Turner was a features writer with publbisher Mortons Media Group across its motorcycle and scooter titles.

He has also worked as deputy editor of Which? Bike and as a staff writer for Mortons.

"Have a little money saved up as a buffer, just in case, and so you don't have to grab everything that comes your way; remember that the main reason you're doing this is to pick and choose your working hours and subject matter. Try not to lose sight of that in the pursuit of making as much money as possible," Turner advised other journalists considering the move to freelance.
