Cliff Hanley has been named as assistant editor of the West of England Royal Academy Friends magazine.

Mr Hanley was previously advertising manager of the magazine.

Mr Hanley's career has seen him hold a number of roles, including: researcher and presenter of a weekly arts programme on Bristol radio station, BCfm.

He also owned and managed Studio Nine Gallery in London and was a journalist on a Glasgow local newspaper.
