Baughan was a film student at Leicester University and film editor of the student newspaper. Her first industry role came as a production assistant at Visual Imagination Ltd. in 2002. From there she joined Film Review in the same role, moving through several more editorial roles until she was made editor in 2005.
When Film Review ceased publication earlier this year, Baughan launched a movie website, Roll Credits (www.rollcreditsonline.com).
Baughan will be working on the relaunch of the magazine which will bring in a new design and revamped format.
Journalism.co.uk asked the new movieScope editor if she had any advice for aspiring editors:
"It's all about getting as much experience as you can in the field, either by getting involved with your student newspaper, writing for you local paper or magazine, contributing to websites, or getting work placements - this will also help you make good contacts which are absolutely crucial to an editorial career."
