Michael Moran
Michael Moran has been promoted to books editor of the Times Online.

His new role involves taking the books content from the Times and Sunday Times and making it web-ready, as well as adding original features tailored to the interests of an online audience, he told Journalism.co.uk.

Moran has been with the Times Online for a year, previously as an online journalist.

Prior to this he worked at Emap, in IT and as a writer for Arena, The Face and Mixmag.

"The job requires: someone who loves books but also has good interpersonal skills; is creative but also has good technical abilities; and can absorb almost an unlimited amount of stress," said Moran.

"If that sounds terrible, it isn't. Just get into your target organisation in any capacity you can and hang around trying to look useful - that's all I ever do."
