As part of the the Wall Street Journal's development of European news, Tim Hanrahan, who was formerly WSJ.com day editor in New York, will be responsible for developing the Journal Europe's news output across print and web.

Jennifer Hicks, who formerly oversaw the WSJ.com night desk in New York, will be responsible for the continued expansion of europe.WSJ.com.

Ben Wright has been announced as executive editor of the newly-created Europe Special Reports. Wright was previously managing editor of business publishing for Financial News.

"Each of these new editors will help add another level of depth and breadth to our content, and provide even tighter integration between print and online," said editor-in-chief Patience Wheatcroft.

On Tuesday Journalism.co.uk reported that Iain Martin, former head of comment at the Telegraph Group, has been named deputy editor of Wall Street Europe.
